Save our Local Hospital Services is to hold a public meeting at Savile Town Community Centre (STCC) to allow local people to participate in the consultation process regarding plans by Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Authority for moving the Dewbury Hospital services to Pinderfileds Hospital in Wakefield.
We at STCC feel very strongly that Dewsbury maintains its current hospital service locally, Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Authority which manages the hospital, have decided to move all essential services to the Pinderfields Hospital.
This decision we feel is a cost-saving exercise that will be detrimental to the local people of Dewsbury, taking away local services and making people travel to Wakefield for such important services. It took no more than 7-12 minutes to reach Dewsbury hospital in an emergency from all surrounding areas. It will now take around 20-40 minutes for the same emergency to arrive at Pinderfields in Wakefield. Risking lives of local people over financial gains.
We have decided to support the Save our Local Hospital campaign in this regard and we ask every person to show their support.
Let’s hope the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Authority puts the ethos of local Services for Local people before the cost-cutting exercise.
